Vietnam boasts some extraordinary contemporary artists (both painters and musicians), as well as numerous craftspeople who excel in silk painting, woodcarving, embroidery, pottery, lacquer ware and weavings. Moreover, the countryside features diverse scenery including the mountains of the north, islands of Halong Bay, and waterways of the Mekong Delta.

Scattered throughout are archeological remains from ancient civilizations, such as that of the Chams in the central coast. This uniquely constructed program blends the beauties of Vietnamese art and culture, with those of its countryside, traveling from Hanoi south into the Mekong Delta, and . . . always . . . spending time with the people along the way.
